This year, WAIBOP have introduced an U16 Girls Federation League. This league will be played on Sunday’s and will include club teams from across the federation. With the introduction of the U16 Girls Federation League, 2017 will be the first year that a full female only pathway from juniors through to senior women has been available.
As well as providing a better environment for these young players to develop and grow their love of the game, we’re also hoping this pathway will be the first step in helping us stop the declining numbers in Senior Women’s football
The U16 Girls Federation League has generated a fantastic amount of interest and support from clubs across the region with 12 clubs entering teams. Hillcrest United is aiming to field a highly competitive team in the Federations U16 Girls league with sights set on a top 3 finish while looking to build players over multiple seasons.
