Based in the South-Eastern Hamilton suburb of Hillcrest, the Hillcrest United Football Club (HUFC) accommodates players between the ages of four years (Grade 5) and 14 years (14th Grade). HUFC fosters a supportive and inclusive environment within which children can enjoy physical activity in a team situation while developing their football abilities. Our players come from a wide range of schools, including Silverdale Normal, Matangi, Hillcrest Normal and Berkley Intermediate, and local kindergartens.
The home ground for the HUFC is Jansen Park on Morris Road in Hillcrest. These grounds will provide fields for all the training and for some games on Saturday mornings.
In 2018 HUFC fielded approximately 190 players across 19 teams who competed in the Championship and Knockout Competitions organised by WaiBOP Football, with the younger players involved in the First Kicks programme. The season begins in early May and continues until mid-September, with breaks for school holidays. Children will play up to 20 games in a season. The season ends with the annual 5 aside tournament for 7th grade and above.
If you wish to join the club or you require further information about the club or about football in the Waikato please feel free to contact a committee member.
